The holidays are always around the corner (feel like it, doesn’t it?) and many of us wouldn’t mind a little extra cash to fatten our holiday budgets. Heck, a little extra cash to fatten our everyday budgets wouldn’t be so bad either.
Each season brings its own set of challenges, but the latter part of the year can bust your budget. You prepare kids to go back to school, take a Labor day break, shove candy in buckets, stuff a turkey, endure Black Friday, and then BAM! Christmas.
It’s reasonable to say that your finances need to be able to handle multiple blows throughout the year.
There is one simple and very easy way to earn a little extra cash ($200 to $500 or possibly more). During the year, use your extra time to take surveys.
Do you want to start a blog of your own? If so, I’ve created a DETAILED tutorial to help you start a blog for cheap. Rates begin at $3.49 per month if you use this link. You will also receive a free website domain (your very own web address), a $15.00 value, for FREE if you purchase using my Bluehost link and purchase at least 12 months of web hosting. People don’t give survey taking enough credit. When you’re at home, watching your kids run around like chickens with their heads cut off, it’s really easy to whip out your smartphone or tablet and take a few surveys.
The best part is having enough points or rewards to cash in for gift cards or cash back. I’ve been taking surveys for years and it’s the easiest side hustle for beginners.
I’ve made several hundred of dollars to buy kid’s birthday presents, holiday gifts, and needed household items and I’m planning to ramp things up myself this season so I can spend less this season too!
Okay, enough chit chat. Today I’m sharing 7 FREE online survey sites you should sign up for today!
And yes, sign up for them all! Not every company will send you something every day, so you want to keep your inbox full with potential survey opportunities.
But first – create a separate email for your survey side hustles. You’ll thank me later.
Here are your 7 free online survey sites. Get that cash!
Start with the swag. Why? Because first, you can use this as a search engine and earn Swagbucks. Second, you can use Swagbucks as a shopping portal — equals more Swag bucks. Third, you can take surveys and watch stupid videos — more Swagbucks. Then you cash in for Amazon gift cards and the such.
With Harris Poll Online, you’ll earn points for each survey you complete. Don’t qualify for the survey? You’ll still receive a few points for any survey you’re directed to but didn’t qualify to take. You can also earn entries into sweepstakes for cash. Once you reach a certain redemption level, you can redeem for certain rewards.
Vindale Research is a great survey company that offers many ways to earn rewards. First, you can earn by simply checking your inbox daily for paid survey opportunities. Second, you can follow their blog and social media pages for reward code alerts (btw, Swagbucks does this too). Third, you can earn $5 for referring your friends. Last, you can earn by reading email and watching videos. Once you hit a cash out level, get that money.
Opinion Outpost is very straightforward. You take surveys and you earn points. Once you’ve reached a certain amount of points, you can redeem those for cash paid out via PayPal or gift cards from Amazon and other vendors.
Digital Voice does not pay you cash (whomp whomp) but I threw it in here because you earn entries for the monthly $10,000 sweepstakes. I’m not a luck kinda person, but if you find yourself always winning stuff — then hey, this may be your thing. Only drawback about this one is that you have to download an app and surf the web. For me this is no bueno, but I like presenting options just in case.
With these fine folks, you will get to take surveys and possibly check out new products! How cool is that? A bottle of lotion or hair conditioner — yes, I’ll take three of each, please. For each screener survey, you will receive anywhere between 5 to 50 points. For actual surveys, you can earn between 100 to 5,000 points. Longer surveys guarantee some type of incentive (product or cash), but most should take you around 10 or so minutes.
7) My Points
MyPoints is like a shopping portal. It’s similar to Ebates except that you can print coupons for points, watch videos for points, and guess what else? Take a survey for points! I just recently cashed out for my Amazon gift card. They have other rewards that you can check out too. The best part about this site is that you can earn points back on purchases you make through their portal.

Some Pro Survey Taking Tips For You:
- Don’t get caught up in lies. Don’t tell them you’re 70 years old just to qualify for certain surveys. It’ll be real embarrassing if they start asking you about dentures, certain supplements (ahem, clears throat), and the such.
- Be wary of any survey companies telling you that you’re going to make a bunch of money. It just ain’t so. They lying. #boybye
- They should be free. You are supposed to be seeking the money, not them. If they say you gotta pay, walk away!
- Be consistent. If you don’t actually take the surveys, of course, you’re not going to make any money. Try to aim for 1 or 2 surveys per day during your downtime. Of course, if you have more time on your hands do a little more.
- Don’t set your expectations too high. This means, don’t get discouraged because you might not qualify for a survey. There are surveys out there, trust me. I get my fair share of them!
Now, there it is. I’ve given you 7 free online survey sites to join for extra holiday cash. Make a commitment from here on out to December and you might just find yourself sitting on a nice little sum of cash (or gift cards) to supplement your holiday budget.
