Thank you for your interest in guest posting at Life and a Budget. Now that I’m an official online side hustler, the need for guest posts every once and a while has come. That’s good news for all of you personal finance bloggers because I love sharing other people’s work. If you don’t believe me, just check out my twitter feed.
I DO NOT accept any guest post from bloggers who are blogging on behalf of companies and are seeking to get a link back to their site. I only want guest posts from other bloggers! If you are a company or representative looking for product/service exposure, email me at latoya {at} lifeandabudget {dot} com.
Guidelines:
- You need to be a legit personal finance blogger. If your site is one of those spammy sites, I won’t even give you the time of day. Seriously, don’t waste my time. I’m looking for other personal finance writers who have something good to say. I don’t eat spam.
- Let’s be friends first. It’s common courtesy. If you follow me on twitter or facebook and interact with me in the comments on my posts, I already consider you a friend.
- When you email me, use my name. If you’re going to address me as ma’am or say hi there, you probably don’t meet requirement number 2.
- The topics I accept guest post on are as follows: credit, debt, student loans, savings, budgeting, financial literacy, and side-hustling.
- All posts need to be 850 to 1,000 words. Some topics I’m willing to consider long-form content if the information provided is on evergreen topics that are of considerable value to readers. For example, a guide on student loan debt may require more details than a personal story about student loan debt. Email me prior to writing your post if you believe it fits the bill for longer content.
- Include a short biography with a link back to your site and your social media info. Your article can include no more than two links back to your site only (links subject to approval).
- Please edit and ensure all posts are grammatically correct and free from spelling errors.
- No images, please. I’m sort of picky about how images look here and I’ll be sure to grab a good one for your post.
- Please share your post on social media and interact in the comments after publication.
- If your inquiry clearly indicates you didn’t take the time to read the guest post requirements, you won’t hear back from me:)
If your post is on one of the topics listed above and we are already friends, email me your post idea to lifeandabudget {at} gmail {dot} com.
After you’ve received the go-ahead on the post topic and have written your post, submit it via GOOGLE DOCS and leave the google doc open for editing so that we can make any necessary corrections.
Once I receive the complete post along with your biography, I will email you your publication date.
