Free cleaning supplies…without spending $100 at Target?
“Yes, please. Tell me more!”
I’m sure many of you can relate. How many times has this happened to you?
Yeah, I only went into Target this day for the Method dish detergent that I LOVE so much, but I ended up leaving Target with around $75 in my cart (this wasn’t even all of it)!
As I left the store, I questioned why this always happened to me. It didn’t matter if it was Walmart or Target. There’s always something else sitting in my face. You know the stuff that I needed but forgot to think about BEFORE I went to the store.
Needless to say, I grew tired of this little sick song that Target made me two-step to every time I visited. I needed a way to get the stuff I was going in for and most of the time it’s cleaning supplies.
So, imagine my freakin surprise when I learned that not only is there a cheaper way to get my beloved Method dish detergent, but I could actually get it for free sometimes.
Yeah, it was a jaw-dropping moment.
I’ve since given up on my cleaning supply run to Target and started ordering it much cheaper through the mail. And I’m able to grab my Method kitchen countertop spray, toilet cleaner, bathroom cleaner and more.
Wanna know how I’m getting free cleaning supplies and avoiding the $100 Target run?
Who is Grove Collaborative?
Grove Collaborative is a company that provides recurring shipment services for all-natural home, beauty, and personal care products. Their mission is to make living a healthy lifestyle easy and accessible. Simple enough, right?
How can I get FREE cleaning supplies?
The Grove Collaborative refer-a-friend program allows you to earn $10 credits for every referral you make, with no limit! So, if you have 5 friends who want to try Grove, you can earn $50 to pay for your monthly cleaning supplies.
So, if you’re a blogger, just think of the earning potential for you. Or maybe you’re quite the influencer on Instagram and people love it when you share products you use. You can share your referral link to them too.
Don’t forget to include offline relationships either. You know, your darling mother-in-law who is curious about all the free cleaning products you’re getting. Share your link with her as well.
Not only that but if you sign up to become a VIP member (which I did), you will receive free cleaning supplies and other household products each month too.
When you sign up as a first-time user, you’ll get a free 60-day trial of the VIP program, plus some amazing cleaning supplies to try for absolutely free. And I’m not talking about trial size products either. You’ll receive full-size products! This was the ONLY reason I tried them out in the first place. I needed Method dish detergent and I was able to get two free with one of their previous offers.

How does Grove Collaborative Work?
The Grove Collaborative VIP membership is $19.99 per year after the free 60-day trail. However, it’s completely optional. I joined because of the perks and some other reasons I’ll share in a moment.
Regardless of whether you decide to become a VIP or not, here’s how Grove Collaborative works:
Step 1: This month’s Grove Collaborative offer I’m about to share with you is available now (offer updated 7/3/2019) and it’s only available right now to my readers, so be sure to join with this link in order to get it.
You’ll receive the following:
- Mrs. Meyer’s hand soap
- Mrs. Meyer’s dish soap
- Mrs. Meyer’s multi-surface spray
- Grove bubble up
- Grove walnut scrubber sponges
- And free shipping and VIP trail.
Step 2: In the next step, this is where you’ll be able to customize your basket for all the products you want. You can add as little or as much as you like, but keep in mind, some free products have a specific spending requirement.
There are some months that I couldn’t care less about receiving the freebie so I adjust my basket for only the things I need. After all, I’m trying to save money. In the screenshot above, you can see some free Mrs. Meyers cleaning products in the basket along with some free reusable snack bags.
Step 3: Once you’ve finished adding products to your basket, click Finish & Pay. For your first order, in order to grab the freebies, you’ll need to be at a final amount of $20 or more.
You’ll receive a reminder before your shipment is processed, so be sure to check your basket before your final shipment is made. As you can see above, they take off the discounts for the free cleaning products that are added to your basket.
And that’s it. It’s really that simple. But I know the skeptic in some of you may be thinking, but I can get these products cheaper elsewhere. Don’t worry your little head off about that because I’m about to wow your socks off.
Is Grove Collaborative worth it?
Here are all the reasons why Grove Collaborative is worth it. Remember when I said that I had my reasons for signing up for the VIP program?
Well, not only do VIP members get free shipping the entire year (the VIP price is $19.99 per year – that’s a lot cheaper than Amazon Prime, I might add), but they also get price matches!
That’s right! So, no I don’t have to worry about the fact that I can get my Method dish detergent and cleaning supplies at Publix or Target cheaper. I can just send them a picture of the price at the competitor’s store and they’ll price match it!
This alone makes Grove Collaborative worth it, besides the fact that I can get free cleaning supplies without the $100 Target run.
My Overall Grove Collaborative Review
There are a few things that are annoying about Grove Collaborative, but it’s nothing that can’t be managed. I don’t like the fact that they randomly add things to your cart. They do this to be helpful, I guess. And it’s usually based on your past purchases.
But a lot of the things they add to your cart are the freebies that they’ve given you in the past. Most of the time I like the freebies and of course, I’ll use them. However, that doesn’t mean that I want to start purchasing them.
With that said, be sure to check your cart immediately when they send out the shipping reminder. I can pretty much guarantee that you’ll have to take some stuff out of your cart.
Otherwise, working with Grove Collaborative for my free cleaning supplies has been a pretty good experience. As a VIP member, I get my own personal rep, they have great customer service and it’s easy to cancel and delay orders if needed.
