Welcome to my Survey Junkie Review where I will tell you whether Survey Junkie is actually worth it.
Because let’s be honest, that’s what you really want to know. There is plenty of information out there that will tell you Survey Junkie is legit. And of course, I know that or else I wouldn’t promote it on this website.
But the question that never seems to be answered is whether or not it’s worth it. Today I’m going to totally keep it honest with you and tell you whether it is or not.
But first, let’s get the customary stuff out of the way…the who, what, when, where, and how about this online survey company.
Who Is Survey Junkie?
Survey Junkie is an online survey company that has been around since 2013. Companies use these types of companies to conduct research on products, advertising, and future product development. These companies reward you for your opinion with reward points that can be turned into cash.
Do you really get paid for taking surveys?
This is important and I’ll address it first — yes. I’ve made money for years taking surveys on and offline. Before it was a big thing, I’d signed up with Swagbucks and MySurvey — consistently earning free gift cards each month.
Then I discovered Pinecone Research, who will pay you $3 for every survey (and no, they aren’t those annoying pre-qualifying surveys) and I could cash out at $3 into my Paypal account.
Needless to say, I’ve earned hundreds of dollars doing surveys online. But will taking surveys make you rich?
You already know the answer that and it’s a big fat resounding no. I take surveys in my spare time while watching television. Because let’s be honest, it makes me feel productive.
I’m watching television and earning something. It beats wasting hours away watching the tube and not earning anything. But no, I don’t do it to get rich. I do it to treat myself, add to my budget, and give to others.
With all that said, Survey Junkie does pay you. You can cash out your rewards into your Paypal account once you reach 1,000 points ($10.00). So, let’s move into whether Survey Junkie is worth your time.

Survey Junkie Review — Is it worth it?
To answer the question you need an answer to, I signed up for Survey Junkie myself.
Within the first seven minutes of signing up, I was rather pleased that I’d already earned 100 points ($1.00) for signing up, completing my profile, and verifying my email address.
I was able to further increase my earnings by completing the following user-specific profiles:
- Technology (10 points)
- Shopping (10 points)
- Health (10 points)
- Employment (10 points)
- Interest (10 points)
- Travel (10 points)
So, completing those profiles gave me another 60 points. I earned 160 points within 30 minutes and I was impressed with myself.
Unfortunately, my satisfaction was short-lived. I’ll tell you why in a little, but first let me go over what I did like about this online survey company.
Survey Junkie Review – The Pros
- They give an incentive for signing up and completing the profiles
- The user interface is easy to use
- You don’t receive a bunch of emails
- You can redeem points for Paypal and electronic gift cards
- Good rating with BBB (Better Business Bureau)
- Overall good feedback about the company from its users
Survey Junkie Review – The Cons
- The good surveys (most rewards for little time) are hard to come by
- Some surveys rewards were not added to my account despite not disqualifying
- High threshold for cashing out considering how little the rewards are (meaning, it will take a lot of effort to cash in your Survey Junkie rewards)
- You have to pre-qualify for every survey
- Not enough information about whether Survey Junkie is actually worth the effort
Allow me to explain…
So, let me explain some of these pros and cons…
Most of the good surveys that will reward you a lot of points for 20 minutes or less fill up fast! I clicked on three of these surveys (150 points or more) and was notified that they reached their quota.
Many of the other surveys required you spend 15 to 20 minutes on them but were only for 30 to 40 points. Even when I clicked on those, I didn’t qualify to take any of them so I felt like my time was wasted.
After earning 160 points for completing my profile, I was only able to get up to 258 points over the course of three days!
For me, this was totally not worth the effort involved. You need to reach a minimum of $10.00 to cash out. At the rate I was working, I knew it was going to take me two or three weeks to get there.
It seems like a lot of the reviews you’ll find on other sites accentuate the pros more than the cons.
No one really takes the time to actually try and reach the $10.00 threshold. In other words, they paint a rosy picture to get users to sign up.
I thoughtfully answered the questions and participated. However, I just didn’t feel like my overall efforts were worth a mere $2.58.
So, my final verdict is that Survey Junkie is time-consuming due to low-paying surveys opportunities. Therefore, I only recommend them as a secondary survey company.

Survey Junkie Hacks and Tips To Help You
If this Survey Junkie review still encourages you to give this survey company a try, I recommend doing the following:
- Sign in frequently or at least once a day to snag up those high-earning opportunities.
- Stick with the higher paying survey opportunities (100 to 300 points for less than 20 minutes).
- Be realistic — you’re not going to earn $500 a month taking surveys for money if you only depend on Survey Junkie rewards.
- Sign up for multiple survey companies to increase income if you’re relying on this to bring in extra cash each month.
- Complete all of your profiles.

Which Paid Survey Sites Are Legitimate AND WORTH it
With all of this said, Survey Junkie is a legitimate online survey company and it is possible to earn money on their site.
They are a great survey company to add in the mix only if you’re using other survey sites. You won’t get rich taking surveys period; however, some are more worthwhile than others.
So, which online survey companies are legitimate and more than worth the effort? There are two that I recommend you sign up with in addition to Survey Junkie.
Those companies are Swagbucks and Pinecone Research.
Here’s what I love about Swagbucks:
- You receive a 500 Swagbucks sign-up bonus which is equivalent to $5.00.
- The threshold for payout is low — you can receive an electronic gift card to various retailers (or Paypal) for as little as 200 ($2.00) Swagbucks
- There are plenty of high-paying survey opportunities
- There are more ways to earn Swagbucks other than surveys — you can get Swagbucks for purchases you make, for watching videos, web searches and more.

Here’s what I love about Pinecone:
- The prequalification questions are separate from the survey. Each month they will send household questions to every panel member. Once you’ve filled those out, they will send you surveys you qualify for.
- You’re paid 300 points ($3.00) for each survey they send you.
- You can redeem your points at any threshold. If you receive 300 points, you can cash out for $3.00 into your Paypal account.
- The surveys are easy to take and usually take no more than 30 minutes.
- Some companies will send a product after you take a survey. You get paid an additional 300 points for follow-up opportunities.

Survey Junkie Review Conclusion
Finally, I wanted to offer you a Survey Junkie review with an honest opinion (which seems hard to find these days). Survey Junkie is not a bad survey company to sign up with, let me make that totally clear. However, they aren’t the best as many claim them to be either.
If you want to take surveys for money, I encourage you to sign up for Survey Junkie along with other survey companies (like the ones mentioned above). This is by far the best way to increase your chances of earning more money each month through online surveys.
