Amazon Prime Day is almost here and for a first, I’m actually excited about it. This year we begin our homeschool journey and there are a few things I’ve been holding off on purchasing for this very reason.
If you’re like me, you’re probably waiting to score a few deals yourself and if you’ve never had Amazon Prime (or haven’t had it within the last year), you can definitely score Amazon at a discount or try it free for 30-days — just in time to score some big savings!
So, whether you’re shopping for a new printer like me or you need a new camera — taking advantage of the two-days for Prime 2019 could be well worth it. This is a great way save money so let’s look talk a bit more about what Amazon Prime Day really is…
What is Amazon Prime Day?
Amazon Prime Day is a two-day shopping event that gives you access to some major discounts. We’re talking about huge savings on things you’ve had your eyes on like Instapots, vacuum cleaners, printers, Echo dots and more.
Not only that, it’s a great time to stock up on household essentials if you use Amazon’s services like Amazon Fresh and Amazon Pantry. With those two services alone, you could stock up on toilet tissue and grocery items.
If this is your first time using Prime, download the app using this link and receive a $10 credit when you spend your first $20!
When Is Amazon Prime Day in 2019?
This year, Amazon Prime Day will begin at midnight (PT) on July 15th and run through July 16th. If you’ve had your sights on an expensive product that doesn’t normally fit in your budget, this would be a great time to see if there is any particular deal that would be worth going for.
If you’ve been following along with the 2019 Frugal Living Challenge, you may very well be prepared, so don’t neglect to shop for Christmas gifts during this year’s Amazon Prime Day event too.
Get Amazon Prime Free for Prime Day 2019
Now, let’s talk about how you can get Amazon Prime Free just in time for Prime Day this year. If you’re a student, you can try Amazon Prime FREE for six months. If you receive EBT/Medicaid you can’t get it completely free, but you can pay $5.99 versus 12.99 per month, so that’s worth looking into.
If you’re a Sprint cell phone user, you can get Amazon Prime free. Same with American Express. If you’re a cardholder, be sure to ask about your free Amazon Prime perk. Last but not least, if your package is delayed, bring it to Amazon’s customer service so you can score a free month of Amazon Prime.
Wait to Buy Expensive Items on Prime Day
While everything won’t be included in Amazon Prime deals, it’s wise to save your larger purchase for around that time because it very well may be discounted.
A few things I’m holding off purchasing are things like a new printer and a Vitamix. Go ahead and put some items on your wish list on Amazon and then wait and see what you can score for a major deal.
If you aren’t an Amazon Prime user, sign-up for a 30-day free trial before committing to the one-time yearly payment or monthly payment. This way you’ll be able to take advantage of the major deals to come.
Here are just a few things you might be able to get on Amazon Prime Day:
Instant Pot 6 Qt 7 in 1 Programmable Pressure Cooker
Expect to save big on many household kitchen appliances like this Instant Pot Pressure Cooker.
If you’re looking for other possible deals on household kitchen appliances, check out these household appliances you can buy at a great price.
Eufy BoostIQ RoboVac
Amazon Prime deals usually include popular items such as this Eufy Robo vac. These things are terribly expensive, so if you’ve been wanting one, be sure to keep your eyes open on Prime Day this year.
Toshiba 43 inch Fire TV
Most deals on Prime Day always include scoring a television for super cheap. This Toshiba 43 inch Fire TV would provide excellent value if the price is right.
If you expect your child’s Christmas list to include a television, I wouldn’t wait until Black Friday. Save yourself the hassle of holiday shopping and stock up on deals like these as much as the space in your home will allow.
Other Popular Prime Day Deals
Some other things that you should keep an eye out for include smartwatches, smart home systems, toys, and outdoor gear. Go ahead and begin to make your wishlists now and set aside some savings so you can take advantage of these deals.
Also, if you’re not thinking about Christmas yet, you should! I always begin prepping for Christmas shopping in July because I absolutely HATE shopping for the holidays during the holidays.
